WHO AM I?
Hello!
My name is Shanon McNeil. I graduated in May 2023 with a BS in computer animation. I love to wear many hats in the arts and animation pipeline. From early concept to final composite, I can take on almost any role!
In my spare time I work on my passion project, Weather Bound, a graphic novel series where I apply all the skills I have gathered in storytelling and express a message about balance in life and in nature through fun storm chasing Elemental adventures.
I started off with traditional fine arts before having access to the technology of digital art.
I took every art and ceramic class offered in high school and learned a variety of mediums.

Highly detailed realism was something I was excelling at during the time, but what I truly loved to do was develop my cartoon style.

Rise of the Guardians (2012) was my first major push towards animation. I watched the movie a good 50 times in the first month I discovered it.
​
The correlating "Art of" book served as a major artistic inspiration for the next years.
In the later half of high school I started to do digital art and draw characters in a cartoon style.

I animated small shots with drawing programs certainly not meant for animation.
​
Then, in my senior year I discovered Huntington University's animation program and began an early entry enrollment while in my last semester of high school.
Lastly, after proudly graduating, I moved with my family across country to central Florida.
​
I was sad to say goodbye to all the wonderful friends I've gotten to know at Huntington University Arizona, but I embrace all the new opportunities Florida may hold!
I charged ahead and completed my BS, during which I ended up working on 5 animated short films, directing 2 of them, and self publishing 3 full length graphic novels.

I was also graced with the opportunities to TA for 2 courses and serve as a student mentor.
